Netvibes Is Cool!
I just registered another account at Netvibes and im stunned only by using the register form ( yet ). As i analyze the website, it is one of the best websites from the user experience side. Users are provided with a full AJAX based scripts that allows them to browse the whole forms without changing pages. The page transitions is very smooth with a fade-in, fade-out effects ( script.aculo.us maybe?? ) but it gives a flash experience of artful registering process.
This whole shebang is awesome and i salute the teams of developers, but looking the information architecture provided within the frontpage its still quite lacking. I honestly dont understand what the website is all about, or maybe this just because i was focused on the design and the AJAX thingies.
Netvibe’s frontpage shows a number of widgets contains lists from other websites like Youtube, Weather forecasts, Google, Digg, Flickr, Ecosystem, etc. This makes Netvibes looks like portal, much like Google’s iPage ( which btw i love this so much ) but in much more sophisticated way with drag-drops effects ( script.aculo.us again?? ).
